This is a pun-filled piece relating to something called a “Complexity Filter”. Quite often, I have no idea as to what the product or service I’m voicing about is, well, actually “about”! This is one such example. However, watching (and listening to) the 1.26-minute video, to me, it’s a kind of “ah, so that’s what this is about”, an almost revelatory moment! Take a look and see if you can... View Article

A nice narrative about the largest chain of private clinics for plannable medical care in the Netherlands which focus on treatments in orthopaedic, eye and skin care – as well as other treatments – covered by the Dutch health insurance system.

Really nice video depicting a super usable online contract furniture catalogue for a bespoke series of cottages and more in the Netherlands. Lovely graphics – and a 4.8 star rating!

Video for a tech company which – as the explainer goes – provides a crucial contribution to the society and economy, turning promising ideas and teams into solid startups. They have an ecosystem of experts, mentors, corporate partners, and investors with some unique programs, geared to “building tomorrow’s leading firms”

A pun-filled little piece I voiced for a European client. More often than not, I don’t get to see what I’ve put my voice to. In this instance, the client was gracious and sent me the link. I never really know what half the things I voice are going to be about before I see the script – often as the session begins – or whether they’re going to be... View Article

I play the role of the “GameMaster” in this funky hit-the-button-to-answer-first type game, sold around the world. I didn’t want to sound like Leslie Philips (UK actor who was the voice of the “Sorting Hat” in the Harry Potter movies), or Dumbledore (either the Richard Harris or Michael Gambon version). So I came up with something approximating both combined with a bit of a ‘wizardry-acting’ thing thrown in – a... View Article

For this online ad, the concept was for the voice-over to be tough, a little cynical, tongue in cheek and to convey an attitude of “if you like wasting money, don’t buy these tyres!”. The passive/aggressive approach sometimes works in advertising – if done correctly – and, in this case, it apparently did…

Every now and then, I’m offered the opportunity to stretch my vocal capabilities and deliver something other than a corporate, documentary, e-learning, or commercial narrative, such as I did for my client “Geotab” as the voice of both the “Smartcharge Homes” and “Wattson” characters in this amusing short presentation about EV (Electrical Vehicle) Charging. It’s an online explainer used on Geotab’s website to show and inform people using EV Charging how... View Article

…and hello to the county of Dorset! A lot’s been happening since my last blog, which is partly why it’s taken so long to get ‘round to writing this one and yes, some of the reason why is due, directly, to “The Virus”. Let me tell you a little tale… I was born and raised in the fair city of Bristol quite some time ago. When I was 13, my... View Article

On August 20, 2020, my Mum would’ve celebrated her 100th birthday (she passed in 2012). I often think of and miss my Mum (and others who have departed), and now that life’s moving on for me too, I find myself pondering what it was like for her, growing up during the 1920s, 30’s and 40’s, the War Years and so forth – and am glad she’s not around to have...
